Your Soul Leads Your Way

"When you dance, your soul leads your way. Do you think about your feet when you walk? No one thinks about them. When a child is told 'come here,' the child goes, 'yes, mother,' does it not? Life is just like that. It never stays still."

- a saying by Kazuo Ohno, a dancer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazuo_Ohno (translated by me!)

I want to visit his son's dance studio when I go back to Japan.

  1. I like this way of thinking. Your soul is your path and your guide. Your mind not know the how or why but your soul leads you to where you need to be.

I feel that a sense of displeasure arrises when our souls and rational minds come in conflict. Though we may be safe and content we cannot be true to ourselves and feel things honestly if we deny our soul and defy our path.

You should follow your urge to go! Why put your true desires aside when life is so short. Amazing translation as always Saya :)

  2. I believe that the way is to end this conflict between the soul and the mind, and make them work together in harmony towards a mutual destination. The mind needs the soul for guidance, just as the soul needs the mind (and the body) to manifest itself in the world. The mind, body, spirit - the Holy Trinity!

Thank you for your compliment on the translation! I'd love to translate more of Japanese writings unknown to the West!:D
